Everyone keeps leaving. Is it summer yet? I really cannot abide by this continued nonsense. Not to mention that I received a package from my grandmother mailing me the most ridiculous nautical jumpers. Do I appear to be a sailor? Am I in love with Dover Beach? The answer is "no, I am not; sand is inconvenient and coconuts can sod right off". Stupid things.
I hope Father was informative enough in Dark Arts. He used to love lecturing and I think if he weren't taking over the world he would be an excellent professor.
And Daphne, your creature threw up on my cardigan

I note that we have had another post from "Ms. Lovegood"'s journal.
Is this not something that we should be seeing to?

I have been back at Hogwarts all of six hours and already I have gone through half a bottle of pinot and fancy emoting to the thrice-damned squid I do hope that everyone had a fantastic hols! Too much? I keep knocking over my ink stand, not as a defiant passive-aggressive gesture or as a method of expressing shock and horror as some seem to favour, but merely as a way to pass the extremely-sober time. Bother

This time of year is abysmal. With every new flower that bursts forth from its bud, my misery doubles. Bloody pollen.
However this year I am on a new potion and so far, it appears to be successful. It does have its own variety of unpleasant side effects, but hopping like a rabbit occasionally really is a small price to pay for being able to breathe.

An update on our yes-man.
I have exchanged the information regarding Mr. Selwyn's particular curse with one of my contacts for Daphne's potential safety. Before you start objecting that I sold you down the river, let me explain myself:
- We would not have been able to remove the curse and not suffer Mr. Selwyn's wrath. The information cannot be linked to us with any definitive evidence as any idiot who witnessed Mr. Selwyn's fit last week might have spread rumours that have been exaggerated into both fantasy and fact. Plus it might be assumed by any party that Mr. Selwyn (being a blood traitor) will have made friends within the Army anyway, and they reached that conclusion on their own.
- Secondly, Daphne is a perfectly reasonable person to benefit from this, as the Army would never agree to either you, me, or Pansy being warned, and Daphne can communicate with me (and thus you) as need be. Also, Daphne is much prettier than you. Don't pout.
- If Daphne is not warned, then we have lost nothing of note because we had more-or-less decided to leave Mr. Selwyn's spell alone regardless. That, and we may be morally smug to know that the Army has no issue with lying to those of our persuasion when we, ourselves, were honest.
- If Mr. Selwyn returns to his previously ill-advised ways, our own behaviours (and distaste at the worst of the tortures petitioned by Ms. Zabini, for example) may be overlooked in the face of more abject rebellion.
- If, Merlin help us, we are ever in Mr. Selwyn's position, we might take hope in knowing that some students within school walls can assist in breaking the Curse.
- Finally (and most importantly), maybe Mr. Selwyn will stop being so damnable creepy.

This is past overdue.
I am terribly sorry for the way that I treated you. I refer to both keeping my union with Daphne a secret as well as my behaviour once the secret was revealed to the world. It was ungentlemanly of me, and I am ashamed of how I acted. I will not lie further and say that I regret my marriage to Daphne - you know my vice of independence well enough to know that - but I do regret keeping it from you, when you have proven many times to be a voice of great confidence. I was equally rude the evening it was discovered. I admit I was frustrated and frightened with the particular truthfulness that we were all experiencing that night, and consequently a great deal of my childishness was aimed in your direction when it shouldn't have been.
I apologise once more, Pansy. I hope that you will be good enough to look past my trespass.

Pardon me, but have you heard any news regarding a Mr. Anthony Goldstein?
Thank you in advance.

Is it wrong that I slept fine?
Yes, I know that it is wrong. That what occurred in the dungeons was wrong. Beyond a shadow of any doubt. I hated every moment, every smell, every sound that occurred - that is not the way we should show our superiority, should guide those that are lesser. It is brutal and animalistic and wrong.
And yet I know that it was the best choice.
I look at Daphne and she has been so pale the last few days, and then I see Callum with the blankest of faces and I know - it was the best choice.
Or rather, it was the only choice.

This was not an outcome that I had participated! I should explain - I had supposed that my high-intake of tea would have protected me from whatever effects that a beverage such as Whammo! would have had, but it appears that such is its potency that I now am filled with the buoyant desire to go traipsing about the Scottish highlands despite the cold temperatures and perhaps chop firewood for some purposes unbeknownst to me, or perhaps I shall merely sit back in my chair and laugh laugh laugh for a spell as everything is rather humorous, which (believe you me) is quite a buxom relief compared to just a few evening's ago.
I say! My hand is shaking! How queer - although that reminds me of that horrifying anonymous entry that prompted much concern for my person, so I think I shall simply say GOOD EVENING, dear friends, and go laugh at the wallpaper some more!
Ta!
